Posting this in case it could be helpful. I know this guitar is held in high regard and it should be. I was on the lookout for an HSS Strat-like guitar. I wasn’t really concerned about price but more so the features. I looked at Ibanez and almost got a Fender American Ultra II Strat but I wasn’t feeling the color and neck. I also own a few PRS’s and a Schecter USA shop AM-6 signature. My point being that I know when people get new gear, they like to proclaim that it’s a beast and the best thing ever because they chose it. But for $899, this thing is fantastic. The other thing is that I like prog and I like a thinner neck and flatter fretboard which is rare to come by in this type of guitar.
I mentioned the PRS’s because they have fantastic QC. Especially with their SE guitars. After owning a few SE’s the one thing I personally feel with them is that they all kind of have a “feel” that is sort of homogenized no matter what model you get. Not saying it’s a bad thing, it’s consistent. This guitar doesn’t have that. At all. This genuinely feels closer to my USA Custom shop AM-6 than my PRS SE feels to its PRS core. Even the feel of the tuners and bridge.
Good job, Schecter!
