I am at my wits end. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Last night she bit me so hard I doubled over. Inside I can walk away from her play pen, but we live in an apartment building and whenever we go outside she will bite me. It’s definitely arousal biting (end of walk zoomies, someone walked by her sitting very nicely waiting to be pet and she doesn’t get a pet, doesn’t get to play with a dog walking by, bites me and her leash in the hallway going back to our apartment after a potty break). I tried shoving a squeaky toy in her mouth, doesn’t work, she goes for my hand/arm. Same with trying to give commands before she gets too riled (she knows sit, lay down, I give her treats). “Reverse timeout” isn’t possible outside where I live. I started carrying kong spray cheese which she LOVES but I also don’t want to teach her that she can bite and then immediately sit and get a treat. I walk her 6-9am and then 6-10pm and in between then my partner watches her, and he does not get bitten. She is sooo so sweet and cuddly and perfect otherwise and doesn’t bite me in front of other people really (ie, not at puppy class or at the vet, etc) but I’m getting concerned now that her adult teeth are coming in that 1) im going to need stitches and 2) this is going to be a forever problem and not fixed from growing up. YES she naps a ton. YES im aware she a nippy herding breed. YES i give her chewies and lick mats and frozen carrots help 😭
