Does anyone else born in 2000 not feel like Gen Z?

I've seen Gen Z defined as 1995 or 1997 to 2012, but I feel like that's pushing it way too far. I was a 2000s kid and a 2010s teen. At some point in that range, you enter "2010s kids" and "2020s teens" even "2020s kids" territory, which I think should be a different generation.

I've talked with people born in like. 2006, and they are clearly different. Talking Tom (2014?) was not part of my childhood, I was a full fledged teenager, smoking weed and having my first girlfriends, while they were still kids. I saw the Millennial definition on Wiki that extends to 2000, and honestly, that makes sense. Wbu?
