Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me or that a Meta employee might see this.
About 3 hours ago, I was using the Meta app and selected specific photos and videos to import into my phone's gallery. I did NOT delete anything – I only imported selected files. However, after the import, I noticed that ALL of my photos and videos that I had taken within the Meta app were gone. They were completely deleted from the app, even though I never intended to remove them.
To make things worse, the files did not even make it into my phone's gallery either. So right now the photos and videos are nowhere to be found – they are gone from the Meta app AND they are not in my phone's gallery. They have essentially vanished completely.
Since this happened only about 3 hours ago, I'm hoping that the files might still be stored somewhere in Meta's cloud and could potentially be recovered.
My questions are:
Why did importing selected files cause ALL my media to be deleted from the Meta app?
Why did the files not appear in my phone's gallery after the import?
Is there any way to recover these photos and videos through Meta's cloud or servers?
Is there a way to contact Meta support directly to request a data recovery?
This is really important to me as these are personal memories that I cannot recreate. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
