Howdy y'all,
New owner of a 2017 Countryman in a 6-speed manual I got off Carvana, only 38k miles on it! Loving the car so far, the shifter and clutch feel fantastic and the car definitely has some pep to it. I had a few questions I hope folks might be able to answer:
- There's a handful of JCW accessories, the trim the door trimboards and the steering wheel, but the VIN lookup I did said it's just an S. I'm guessing this was just JCW add-ons and it doesn't have the engine upgrades, but would the VIN lookup tell me for sure, or should I be looking at the engine block or looking elsewhere for confirmation?
- When I'm in sport mode, the blow off value is LOUD. Is that common for the B48, or is it possible there's an aftermarket blow off value? There's definitely an aftermarket air intake, the stock airbox is gone. See pic below:
- Anyone else have the factory roof rack? Does it whistle above 60mph? Mine is kinda loud, I guess I'll have to live with it, unless the lateral rails for mounting stuff can be easily removed?
I've got 13 days to get any repair stuff covered under Carvana's warranty that I can find, so I'm getting it inspected by my mechanic. Anything I should tell them to look for in particular, besides a couple of common things I've read about online (oil filter housing, coolant pump housing)?
Hope to have some fun times with this. Save the manuals!
