Hi everyone, i have been working at a hotel (minimum wage) and my shift time is always 10am start, however recently they have been saying we need to come in at 9:30 to start work so that we don’t go over hours. They wont let us clock in at 9:30, we have to clock in at 10am even though we have started work (i.e setting up linen stock ect). I typically come in 10/15 minutes early anyway and they have been telling me I’m late even though I’m early. Is this legally okay to do? Or should i be paid for the extra 30 minutes working time?

Note - Im not paid by room, I’m paid by hour which is why i was concerned.
