2 weeks ago this bump showed up on my almost 6 year old doberman/pitbull mix. Thought it was a bite of some sort, then 6 days ago I messaged his vet the last picture because it was getting bigger. The vet said “looks like a healing pustule type lesion, but it could also have been from a bug bite” and to just monitor it. The first 2 pictures are from yesterday. I feel like it looks worse. Its on the surface of his skin like a mole, except it looks like that. He’s not bothered by it, he doesn’t care that I touch it. It almost looks like something that could be squeezed, but I don’t want to do that if it’s something that shouldn’t be squeezed.
I don’t want to overreact but I also don’t want to under react if this is not something simple.
Should I be making a vet appointment? Or do warm compresses consistently? Neosporin?
He just got his first old man bump right in the middle of his forehead under his fur in the last 6 months. I took him to the vet for it in February and they pinched it, moved it around and said it’s just a cyst. I don’t want to go again for them to do the same thing with this, but I’m also pretty sure this is different than a cyst. Any guidance is greatly appreciated, thank you!
