Found in my archive: Original 1997 8x10 camera-master chrome of Dave Navarro (One Hot Minute era

In 1997, during Dave's run with the Chili Peppers, I was a First Photo Assistant and worked on François Nars' landmark X-Ray book project. I managed the large-format 8x10 film for the shoot.

After the book was edited, François gifted me the actual 1/1 physical camera-master chromes from the sessions. This is the original Fujifilm transparency of Dave and Monet Mazur that sat inside the camera. It's been kept safe in dark storage in my private archive ever since. I thought the RHCP community would appreciate seeing a physical piece of '97 history before it goes to a new collector.

I was François Nars' 1st Assistant in '97. Here are some of the 1/1 Fujifilm 8x10 master chromes from the "X-Ray" sessions. [Sinar P2 | Fuji RDPI E-6

In the late 90s, I spent a week managing a Sinar P2 8x10 camera workflow for François Nars' landmark book project, X-Ray. My world was handling the sheet film and daily lab runs to ensure every frame was perfect.

Upon completion of the final edit, François gifted me these original 1/1 camera-master chromes. These are the physical Fujifilm RDP II transparencies that were inside the camera at the moment of capture. Subjects include Dave Navarro & Monet Mazur, Guinevere van Seenus, and Shalom Harlow.

Seeing the physical RDPI edge codes still gets me. It was an incredible era of practical makeup effects, high fashion, and large-format 8x10 film.
