All of your modded Casios/G-shocks are ugly as FUCK. Stop ruining them.
They're perfectly fine from the factory. Call me crazy, but if I want another kind of band, I buy a different watch. I like resin straps. I like folded links. I just bought the DW-9052 V-1 with the factory nylon strap and it looks and feels amazing. It doesn't look like an ugly-ass hodgepodge of Aliexpress garbage. None of my watches will EVER have ugly-ass strap adapters. The farthest I would go is buying a custom-tapered strap to match the admittedly stupid dimensions of the stock straps (16-18mm flaring out to 22-24mm IIRC). Even then, there are plenty of factory strap options for all of the watches I want. You won't catch me putting my own mesh strap on a Casio. I'm buying one on FACTORY mesh. I'm a purist, so sue me.
Straps are just the most popular part to modify. As for the rest of the watch...stop ruining everything else too. I keep seeing ugly-ass aftermarket metal mod kits, and they all look like shit. Wow, they're metal. Who cares, if they're finished like shit? A lot of people still care, apparently, but not me. I wanted a metal G-Shock so I bought one. It's finished beautifully. It's an absolute compliment magnet. It looks so shiny and amazing that normal (non-watch) people actually tell me how cool it is. Nobody cares that you got a really good price on your Aliexpress shit heap. It looks cheap because it is.
Quit it with the damn LCD filters, too. Yeah, bro, let me put some distracting, colorful film over my nice, crisp LCD display. I notice the difference in crispness between the A158 and A168, and a stupid extra filter would mess with the crispness that I so love. I like watches. I care about details. I don't need OOOOO PRETTY COLORS on my screen. The most egregious foul that could be committed is when people cover up the little analog clock on the "Casio Royale" (I hate that name btw. so dorky, in a bad way). It's the last thing you can do to say "I don't actually like this watch. I just like to pretend that I'm being creative and "expressing myself". Now, please compliment me because I changed the parts of my watch to be uglier".
I'm literally staring at my pile of stock Casios/G-shocks and it's filling me with unbelieveble pride, knowing that I'm enjoying my watches properly.
