Hi all. I was on a flight on the 21st of April from Johannesburg to Istanbul. The flight was diverted back to JNB about 45 minutes into the route. There was a general electrical failure in the cabin. Some passengers reported smelling electric burning. The flight crew initiated landing protocols (in a slightly panicked manner). After landing passengers were removed to the terminal and a new departure time was assigned which was postponed twice until given the designation “indefinite delay”. We were reboarded about 4-5 hours after the return to the airport and the next flight went fine.
I’m very curious about what happened, but I can’t find any mention of this incident anywhere. Does anyone know where such incidents could be logged/explained?
