Not a frequent viewer, but Rose Anvil got me into boots and other leather goods, and most of what I know comes from the channel, though I take it with a grain of salt.

However, I was catching up on his old videos and noticed a discrepancy with two of the boots that he reviewed: On the Birkenstock Birminghams, he pointed out that the relief cuts on the midsole are going to be a problem, but on the Heritage Captains he presented it as a necessary feature.

Am I missing something?

Did he release a video that made him change his mind about relief cuts?
