Hi, me and my boyfriend picked up this baby from the shelter yesterday. We've been wondering about her size.
She's a year old and super super tiny, almost half of the size of my other kitty who is 8 months (normal size). We were told she's mostly likely inbred and she's had a bunch of complications so far - severe allergies, skin lesions, compulsive licking, multiple eye and ear infections, severe fleas, an ovary cyst, she's had a tooth removed etc. Her face seems strangely shaped (huge, prominent cheekbones and tiny nose) but that could be just how she looks lol.
We haven't been able to weight or measure her since she's still not completely confident in her new home but we estimate she's roughly 15-20cm tall (as tall as my palm lol) and around 30cm long without the tail. Her tail also seems a bit shorter than a regular one but not short enough to be called a bob tail or anything similar.
There was nothing in her vet records about being a dwarf or being deformed in any way, but I'm wondering if that could be the case since she is inbred or if her growth was just stunted cause of all the health issues she was dealing with. I expect dwarfism would have a bunch more potential health defects so I would like to know what to expect in the future :)
