Hey all,

If C, R, B, P, or A are reading this... posting this here so as to not spam you guys in the discord with my baby player questions! Just looking for some second opinions!

Relatively new to the system and I recently joined an AV game. I was able to whip together an exemplar and am wondering a bit about level-up choices. Please note that this game uses a bit of homebrew in which:

  1. Most of the maps have double-sized hallways/ are doubled in general (GM has been driving themself mad in Foundry with this QoL )
  2. We get a free archetype (any except exemplar) feat, but must spend class feats on any subsequent feats related to that archetype. Ergo, "dual weapon warrior" is free at level 2, but "dual thrower" requires the use of an exemplar class feat.

Without spoiling any of the major plot points/ encounters in the AP, how does this character concept look? We've already started playing, so species and background are completely inflexible/ unchangeable. Please also note that "free archetype" feats are intentionally left blank as per homebrew rule 2 above.

Basically:

  1. Shadow sheath, Horn of Plenty, Scar of the Survivor

  2. Star knife + hurl at the horizon for effective ranged + melee combat

  3. Shadow sheath + dual weapon warrior and dual thrower for unlimited chucking.

Would swapping one of the above ikons for Gleaming blade and dual weapon warrior for the rogue archetype be superior choices? One could hypothetically spark transcendence and swap between ikons depending on enemy distance, with rogue archetype offering even greater throwing distance through strong arm, and 2 extra skills + a skill feat with the dedication.

I guess TL:DR: What's anyone's experience with a combination throwing/ melee exemplar build in AV?
