I just purchased a new set of Dura Ace SPD SL pedals. The bolts provided with the new cleats were giving me trouble and I wasn't able to screw them all into the shoe.

I was able to get one of them on by pushing down hard to bend the cleat a bit, but it only caught a bit of the thread. I wasn''t able to get the other two on.

So I compared the bolts to the old ones that I originally had on my shoes.

Looks like Shimano is using different bolts, as the threads on the new bolts don't go right to the end of the bolts.

I ended up using the old bolts and they went on without issue.

I usually swap out my cleats once a season and have never run into this issue before. Has anyone experienced this before?
