My wife and I moved with our 3 year old to Hunters Point South in December after 10 years in Astoria. Our kid is finishing out the school year at her old school in Astoria (she's in 3K now, turns 4 in September), but we're looking to connect with other parents with kids the same age to build kid friendships in the new neighborhood.
Her socializing has consisted mostly of sticking around in Astoria after school to hang out with her friends there, or going to their birthday parties on weekends. We're hoping to connect with parents of 3/4 year olds in the same year of school (starting Pre-K in the fall) to help her adjust to what she still keeps calling her "new home". In particular we're looking for anyone in the Gotham Point/Center Blvd/Malt Drive areas.
Happy to accept DMs of any parents in similar situations. Also curious if there's other platforms I should be looking on or using. Maybe a neighborhood Discord or Whatsapp or something? Love the friends I've made through our old neighborhood subreddit, so not discounting here just hoping to find the best way to connect.
Little more about our kid: she's tall for her age (2nd tallest girl in the class despite being 2nd youngest in the class). LOVES music (heavy into a Danny Go! phase right now), loves trains especially but any kind of transportation. Always full of questions. All around goofy, energetic, typical 3 year old.
