Pandemic or not, take some precaution.
So far, we’re still very early into this sudden debacle. We’ll most likely see more cases or events happen in the future, determining if it will be global spread or contained. I just want to say that it never hurts to mask up with an N95 mask and alike, clean regularly with protection and adequate solution, practice frequent handwashing, and clothes-washing since a lot of particles can catch onto clothing. A lot of the same procedures that protects you against COVID-19 can protect you from hantavirus as well. Even if this doesn’t turn out to be a pandemic, it doesn’t hurt to practice safety measures that can protect you from other things. People can be gross and open-mouth cough in public, contaminating public spaces. Staying clean is the best thing you can do as this situation unfurls.
California Not Disclosing Number of People?
Other states in which residents have been exposed to the hantavirus on the cruise have been disclosed, but California has yet disclose the specific number of residents who attended the MV Hondius. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, so I have no desire to jump to any conclusions, but the idea that there’s so little information of residents exposed compared to other states unnerves me, as someone living in Cali. It’s already enough, knowing that there are other strains of hantavirus found in the mice native here, but the lack of information about people exposed to the Andes strain is somewhat anxiety-inducing for me.
