Currently looking for a Porsche 987. Honestly the biggest thing is trying to understand the market and what’s what. I personally am not looking for some mint garage queen as I will be turning this into a track and weekend fun car.
I have just noticed the odd pricing from some sellers. Kinda of a “I know what I got”. I will see a mint low mileage 987.2 S for $30-40k and then I’ll see a 987.1 but just a year difference going slightly under but 100k miles more and just all around worse condition.
Should I be spending $20k on a 987.1 with 160k miles that is fairly well taken care of with no service records. Seems fairly high in my book.
I have seen 160k mile 987.1 with camel interior that’s all black and a fake S in the back going for 15k. I’m just like yeah just spend the 5k more and get something in good condition for the start.
Most of these listings are month and months old. 3-8 months still on market for same price. I message and they are all still available.
What would yall pay for any type of 987? Gen 1 or Gen 2. From shell to beat to shit. Mint to average.
Personally I’m on the shell and beat to shit side but 15k for an engine I know is probably scored at 160k miles and everything else I’ll need to replace seems like not a good idea.
