Canon Vixia "Cannot communicate with battery pack" people just put up with using 3rd party batteries?
I was gifted a Vixia HF R500 camcorder with a wasabi battery and they won't communicate together because of the lack of chip in the battery I guess
$100+ for a replacement genuine canon battery for that old of a camcorder seems pretty steep to me
I can deal with the lack of battery percentage shown on the screen, whatever, but the fact that every time I power it on, it asks me if I want to continue using the battery pack drives me crazy. I have to pause whatever I'm about to do with it to tell the thing to "yes keep running on the battery that clearly works well enough so that you can ask me this stupid question." Does anyone just put up with that?
