Uncovered the bike today to discover the low permeation fuel hose had been chewed off. I suppose I'm lucky it was just that. Any concerns with it now being this much shorter? Id say they took off a good 2-3 inches. Any recommendations for something I could do to prevent this from happening again like coating or spraying the wires with something?

I noticed the wire wrap came off this part. Can anyone help identify it for me and is that "wrap" also a heat shield? I slid it back over the exposed wire but wasn't able to secure it due to lack of room (didn't want to pull the oil filter). Any suggestions and is it a big deal?
