Hi,
I am 24M, from Tier 2 city of Maharashtra.
I want to ask boys and girls, why you never dated / had relationship or why did you selected / opt to never date or stay single ?
My reason for not dating is my financial condition, family and my moral values.
Well on family - I come from a rich family (Business Family) i.e. In my city people know who I am and my family. My father, uncle and my grandparents, also my cousin brothers and my cousin sisters husband. If I date then within 24 hours my family will find out who was the girl I am dating or taken to date if anyone saw me.
Moral Values - Well my family is not against love marriage but I know I can't just bring or date any girl. Also due to a rule of mine - physical after marriage. Due to this rule, 3 girls rejected me on the 3rd or 4th date and I was confused like I said something wrong or what. So I stopped dating and fully focused on my family business (father business) after UG (graduation).
And my family asked me yesterday, if I am dating someone. If so at least tell us about it and I was like do you really think you won't find out about the girl I was dating. My family influence is strong in my hometown. Well my marriage talk will be starting when I will turn 26 and if I have someone then my family would like to meet her and her parents. But I clearly told them I am single and never dated anyone.
Financially - I am working with/for my father so if I started dating someone either I will be dating her on my father's money not by my own money. So I am thinking of starting a new business next year or 2. Then I will think about dating someone. Otherwise I am quite sure my family will put me in Arrange Marriage (AM) i.e. 80-90% sure I am going to marry through AM.
Also my mother told me that if you are going to date someone at least try to find from our own community, religion and caste. So that we (my mother and father) won't reject her. Due to these conditions, my chances of dating or finding the right partner is low I mean really low.
My Life -
Also about my life, I am really happy right now as single so dating someone or going to dates never crosses in my mind. I joined health clubs and gym like a year ago so in my life I am quite busy.
Also it's not like girls didn't approached me, in college 2 girls approached me. One of them I didn't feel emotional connection so I rejected her. And 2nd one was really beautiful, I am all the boys wanted to date her and she approached me and ask me out. I had to reject her because she was dating a boy i.e. had a boyfriend. She wanted to date me because she found out that I was from a rich family. I am not an idiot who will date a cheater and gold digger.
Also no sunday and Saturday for me. Because my factory timing is 9 AM to 7 PM from Tuesday to Sunday. So I only got Monday as a holiday. But due to, starting and planning for new business even my Monday holiday will be gone. Even my own cousin brothers are facing the same issue, except me and my other brother, the same age as me and we both are not married. But my other cousin brothers are busy in their life from Monday to Sunday and they are married (AM).
Please share your story. I feel like I am the only one who is left to date and experience real life. Because I met my friends a day before yesterday after a long time and they were sharing their life stories and relationships.
