Hey! I made a goliath monk way of mercy and how come monk are so powerful in 2024? At the moment me and my party are at level 5, I rolled some pretty good stats creating this character but I feel bad at times because of how much damage I can do and absorb. For context I went into this thinking monk hadn't changed from the 2014 version and so I decided to go stone goliath for the special reaction they get where they are able to reduce damage a number of times a day by 1d12+their constitution modifier, I also took a background that gave me the tough feat. Our very first fight (at level 4) we fought this group of bandit and I pretty much rendered them useless since the boss couldn't do more than my deflect attack. I've had my fellow party members ask me a couple times "What can't your character do?" And I'm not sure how to feel about it.
