What Upgrades Would You Want?

So basically I built a site The Text Tool a mega collection of browser based, privacy focused and free text tools.

I'm wondering what users would like and prefer in regards to text related work/concern.

Which text tools do you use in the daily?

What text problems you have encountered that hasn't been solved?

Which text related problem has been solved but you want more ease? More features?

Any text related solution you wish were free and not paid?

It's been 9 months since i've started The Text Tool. And yes i know it's not a unique idea, it's my first project and a learning opportunity.

My question is, if you are a new/startup project, how would you market it?

How do you gain traffic? The backlinks?

Do you pay for it? or is it the same cold outreach? Guest blogging?

And when can you say your project has failed and it doesn't have potential for more?

When do you call it quits?

I wanted a challenge, plus I wanted something relatable to my field of work.

Texts, writing, code..

So I thought why not build a text tools site, have the biggest collection of text tools used daily by editors, developers and writers. All in one place.

And that's how The Text Tool came into existence, at first everything seemed easy. Keep it local, privacy focused, fast and ease of use for users and particularly for myself.

200+ tools later I realized making a website isn't that easy, it's like problems upon problems keep rising.

Your idea will be tested. Your dream, your product will be bombarded with questions..

Do you have the appropriate Schema? Is your meta description the appropriate character level? Is your title catchy? Does the tool work? What's it about? How much can it handle? Any supporting guides?

These were just the basic ones I had to face at first, few months in the hard ones came at me..

Website speed? ISR of the hosting exceeding limits? What is Edge requests? Endless bots crawling your site? How do you protect it?

Even after fixing, learning and upgrading everything bit by bit, it always feels like I'm still behind, still losing.

Almost a year into this, 200+ tools, 200+ guides which include blogs/compare/use-cases, tried making it the best looking, fastest, ease of use site and still my site is stuck on 5.5k views per month.

Backlinks? My top competitors site backlinks come from multiple sites THAT THEY OWN, and they don't even do social media marketing or even post there, while I'm consistent on it.

Where am I going wrong?

How do I increase my traffic?
