Profile assessment

Hi. I'm preparing everything for my petition. Didn't choose a law firm yet, but want to be sure I even stand a chance before pouring money.

I have an MS in Computer Systems and Networks. Over a decade of experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning and making AI accessible on consumer hardware. Unfortunately, no publications, but I have a patent in AR field.

My PE is in Spatial Computing, Digital Health and Human-Machine interfaces. I have an offer for a principal role at a VC backed startup who will allow me to carry my proposed endeavor at a national scale.

Currently preparing a technical project/paper directly connected to the PE.

Going through this sub, I see that most NIW cases are academic researchers. I’m trying to understand whether this is a realistic NIW case if framed as an industry technical leader.

A few questions, but I'd appreciate any recommendations beyond these:

  1. Is lack of publications/citations a major blocker? What should be my main focus for Prong 2?
  2. Would a public technical report / arXiv preprint / demo project around the PE help in a meaningful way? My concern is freshness of it -- there likely will be no citations for a while, the work will need time to get advertised.
  3. Any recommendations for attorneys who are good with non-publication-heavy AI/software/startup NIW cases?

I’m not looking for false encouragement — I’d really appreciate blunt feedback on whether this is worth pursuing , and what I should focus on over the next 1–3 months to make the case stronger.

Thanks.
