Saw a comment earlier that made me think about this.

Could Reddit turn into a kind of data broker for AI (like OpenAI), where news sites, small blogs, science pages, etc. post their content on Reddit specifically to monetize it through AI licensing?

The idea was basically: publishers who currently miss out on big AI data deals could opt in by distributing their content via Reddit, and Reddit would package/licence that data to AI companies while sharing revenue.

Not saying it’s happening, just wondering if that’s even a realistic direction for Reddit or if there’s a clear reason it wouldn’t work.
