Hi there,
My wife is about to order a Trek FX 2 Midstep Gen 4 and we want to use it with a Thule Yepp Maxi child seat (the frame-mounted version, not the rack-mounted one). The adapter clamps onto the seat tube, and Thule requires a minimum of 15 cm (or 6 inches) of free seat tube between the bottom bracket shell and the point where the tube meets the frame junction.
Because it’s a midstep frame, that area is quite different from a standard diamond frame, and I can’t find this measurement anywhere online.
Also, the bike shop does not have the bike in stock and it has to be specifically ordered for me, so I can’t just go to the shop and test it.
If anyone has this exact bike (Gen 4, 2025 or 2026), could you measure the free length of the seat tube from the bottom bracket shell upward to where the lower tube of the frame meets it? I’m attaching a photo from the Thule manual showing exactly what I mean.
I understand the tube length will vary depending on the size bike. In our case it would be a S or M size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We’ve been researching a lot and just when we finally decided on this model we realize about the child seat adapter 🤦 thanks a lot!
