Rewatching DC

It’s funny rewatching the show. I just love how nostalgic it is. Even the lighting in film felt like a different gradient. Really beautifully
Shot. It’s funny too in primary when this show was on in the 90s. I was all for Dawson and Joey. But man I’ve switched teams. I’m all for Joey and Pacey. Dawson and Joey have a kinda soulmate feel a Bout them. But I don’t know it Doesent feel he ever fully seee the full Joey. She has ambitions and dreams. Pacey allows her to grow as the series progressed.

Clearly in the Lorre of the game. Cyberlife never considered a real
Foster care system for younger androids. They are seen legally as property. Not a dependent with rights. So you don’t see welfare checks, foster systems, protective services. Cyberlife see child androids like Alice as therapeutic consumer products. With Todd he basically replaces his daughter with Alice. I mean it’s horrifyingly transactional when you think about it. Instead of addressing his own addiction and abuse etc.

So at the bus scene Todd admits he bought Alice as he was lonely, he wanted another chance to proove he was a good father (clearly he failed). Feels like the game is trying to humanize his character. Without excusing what he did. I don’t know if he earns it though. He was violent. Prob still is. Tried to kill Alice and Kara. Also an irony I guess. Todd wanted fake Love from Alice. But Alice’s care for Kara, becomes more emotionally genuine then Todd’s human relationships ever were. What do you think? Do you think if you were Kara, could you trust Todd around Alice?
