Hey everyone, FTM here (due in a few weeks) and starting to feel a little overwhelmed figuring out postpartum support 😅

I’ve been going down the rabbit hole on night nannies, doulas, and just general newborn help, and honestly… it’s kind of confusing? A lot of agencies feel very opaque (like you can’t see pricing upfront, limited profiles, etc.), and coordinating everything while pregnant is not it.

I was talking to a friend who recently had a baby and she mentioned she found her postpartum caregiver directly through a newer platform instead of going through an agency. That platform was called sanhoo.ai if I remember correctly. She said it felt more like browsing profiles, seeing experience/availability, and just messaging directly vs. going through a middleman. The caregiver set her own rates too, which I thought was interesting.

It got me thinking… has anyone here gone the non-agency route for postpartum support? Whether that’s doulas, night nurses, or nannies?

Would love to hear:

  • How you found your caregiver
  • What worked / what didn’t
  • Whether going direct vs. agency made a difference

Also curious if people are lining this up before birth or waiting until after? I feel like I’m late already 😬
