Unfortunately our time in Mexico has to end unexpectedly. We are quite broken hearted but it is what it is. My question however is this… it seems difficult to rent a car to take over the border. Is it possible to rent one TO the border and get a rental car on the other side? We will be going from Playa Del Carmen to TN.
I also contacted a service that would drive us but we can’t really afford the $3500 fee. (We are choosing to drive because it cost $2600 to get our larger dog in cargo when we came.)
Any suggestions on rental companies? We will have two dogs with us also. We know to travel in Daylight, carry pesos and reserve hotels in advance. Any other advice? Best route? Best place to cross? Is it all of Tamaulipas we need to be aware of or just a certain part?
