Thoughts on Roger Holmes' arrangement of "Feeling Good by Nina Simone"?
I was wondering what all swingers cats in this group thought of Roger Holmes' arrangement of "Feeling Good"? Personally, as a singer, the vocal part helped me figure out what Nina Simone does in her recording, especially in riffs and sixteenth-note sections.
I could be completely wrong, but it feels like there's also a lot of room for screamer trumpets to SCREAM. The first and second part, especially, can be taken up an octave during the instrumental break. I'm lucky enough that, at my school, we have players that can reach those heights.
I'm a trombonist, cellist, and vocalist, but my primary is trombone. I've gotta say, the lead trombone part is awkward... but I wasn't the one playing it. Instead, I got the chance to sing it! Would you mind giving it a listen, if you have the time? Thanks!

This is just a short snippet of the climax of the song, but I'll be posting the full thing (with, if all goes well, multiple camera angles). I'll comment that in this post (or maybe make a new post) once it's released.
