I'm not going name the book series, but I've started a new series, and I love everything about it . . . except for the best friend.
You know the type. She drags the FMC into danger, refuses to listen to reason or contact authorities when needed, and chooses to drag others into danger because they love her and they're unwilling to let her go alone. And she's counting on it.
Invariably, the FMC ends up injured and/or getting the consequences for bff's actions.
This particular bff also makes the FMC's workplace uncomfortable by flirting with and sexually harassing the FMC's co-workers, all while saying shit like, "You'll thank me later." >wink<
She does not change her behavior. She does not re-assess after others are hurt because of her actions. I HATE HER.
And it's ruining what would be an otherwise amazing series for me.
I'm sure the author thinks that bff is "fun", "confident", and "daring".
She's a reckless, selfish, manipulative bitch.
Thank you. Rant over.
