Thinking out loud as the title suggests I’m planning a siege on st.andrals instead of the feast. My party have already hallowed the church grounds and as a result Rahadin informed them that Strahd is none too impressed and will attack the church. They’ve pissed him off in a few different ways and now I believe it’s time for a display of strength.

They’ve barricaded themselves in the church with some wereravens and Rictavio. Strahd has raised the dead from the graveyard to lay siege to the church.

I plan for the first two rounds to be bat swarms whilst the party wait for the horde to break down their barricades. I know they can’t enter the church itself. Here’s the twist, they left ireena at the inn for safety, so after they realise they aren’t being assaulted and more contained with hints from Rictavio, a wereraven will break through the windows informing Rahadin is in the inn, at the same time a plot hook informing them blinsky is being attacked by ghouls (they used the doll to mock strahd to his face).

They then have three main choices, to stay and defend the church, save ireena, or save blinksky. If they choose to leave the church they will lose it, if they choose to stay they’ll lose the other two NPC’s
