People love to chime in after a brutal loss about how Mike Brown and the staff didn't have the right plan in place to do XYZ.

Get your own takes out here BEFORE the first game tips off. Then you can say I told you so when the coaching staff catches up to your genius strategy.

What would YOUR plan be to slow down Maxey?

First off, I don't really think many, if any team has someone who's quick enough to stay in front of Maxey 1v1.

Some options I've thought about:

a) Do what the Pacers did to Brunson last season.

Mikal isn't strong enough to slow down the big alpha wings like Tatum, Kawhi, etc but his quickness and length might be our best option for quick waterbug PGs. Have him use all his energy to hound Maxey 94 feet.

Put in Deuce and Alvarado to spell him but do the same thing.

Everyone else on the floor will focus on helping off their guys to swipe at Maxey and then recover. If the other players get open shots, so be it. If PG and Embiid/Oubre beat us, live with it. We need Maxey to be frustrated and tired in crunch time.

b) Go completely the opposite way. Let Mikal/Deuce/Jose guard him 1v1. If they get roasted, they get roasted. Stop everyone else so they're cold in crunch time.

Just don't let the team get in rhythm off of open looks from Maxey dishes.
