Helping my parents for retirement

Hi all, I am trying to help my parents plan for their retirement which will be in about 5 years time. I have very little knowledge on how things work in the Philippines as I’ve spent my whole working life abroad.

Here’s their background

  • at the time of retirement - 67M / 62F
  • have a fully paid house
  • location: Cebu City
  • expect to receive pension approx $15,400 annually
  • no other liquid investments
  • have cash savings of approx. $300,000

Questions:

  1. Given the current forex conversion rate, is P77,000/ month enough to have to cover bills and have a decent life for a couple?

  2. If they leave say P1 million as an emergency fund and invest the rest of their savings, what investment structure is best that is low to medium risk given they are retired?

  3. Health insurance options?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
