Is 70k enough?
I am 28f and I make $70k with a small bonus (about $5k, maybe slightly more if the department does well). I live in a LCOL city and my rent is $1100 including utilities. I live pretty frugally, and have no debt. I have enough money to take trips to see friends and family but maybe not a big expensive vacation like Hawaii more than once every 3 years.
My question is this - my job is not very hard, I work about 4 hours a day, maybe 6 most and I have time to pay all my bills at work, schedule doctor’s appointments and even do laundry or clean during working hours on wfh days. I also take 8:30 am gym classes on wfh days.
Would you keep this income level / lifestyle and try to live frugally or is it worth it to try to increase income and work significantly more? The other career path I could take works 45-50 hours and right now I work 25-30 hours.
