UD move-out season is about to get chaotic again.
Every year a ton of students underestimate how rough apartment move-outs can be around Newark once finals and graduation hit.
A lot of landlords/property managers get really strict about:
- ovens/refrigerators
- bathroom buildup
- floors/baseboards
- trash left behind
- dust and general condition
And people end up scrambling at the last minute trying to protect their security deposit.
Biggest advice:
Don’t wait until the final 24–48 hours. The good cleaners get booked up fast during UD turnover season, especially the last week of May and first half of June.
Even if you’re doing it yourself, start earlier than you think you need to.
(We do a lot of student move-out cleanings around Newark every summer, so I’ve seen this happen constantly.)
