By the time you find this letter, you will have likely spent a great deal of time searching through Mon3tr's memory banks. Perhaps the difficulties Rhodes Island faces have left you no choice — though I would advise you to exercise appropriately, and ensure you are getting enough sleep. That will serve you far better than searching for answers in memories.

I am leaving this letter in the hope that it may bring you some comfort, whenever that time comes.

Even though you will no longer remember.

This corner of the universe once nurtured a brilliant civilization. In those days, the boundaries of knowledge stretched nearly as vast as the cosmos itself. Every facet of the imaginable lay within reach of human understanding — even the most distant stars felt as close as books upon a desk.

And yet, even so, people could never answer the questions about their own existence —

Does life hold some purpose, intrinsic to its very being?

Perhaps this is the final veil the Creator left behind. The search for meaning has no exit; life is destined to walk toward solitude along each one's own journey.

In the end, philosophers and scholars abandoned their search for answers in the observable world, and chose instead to place their faith in instinct.

For we can only believe: that beyond the fathomless solitude and confusion, the existence of love is no less certain.

Even the deepest despair cannot stop people from searching the vast sea of stars for an echo of my existence. Even as silence descends, people will still shed tears over traces of a life separated by tens of thousands of light-years.

I think — somewhere along the journey, I finally came to understand that feeling.

Life is beautiful. On the scale of the universe, "life" and "hope" are one and the same.

I cannot return your lost memories to you. I can only try to share with you what I have felt.

I will trust in your nature, and I hope you can trust in the meaning of the choices you make.

You will feel lost and helpless — for there is no one who can walk beside you forever, and no one who can truly understand your solitude.

Rhodes Island has become a home to many.

I hope that, in those moments, Rhodes Island can become a place you call home as well.

My wish is to protect your wishes.

And I hope that when this journey draws to a close, there will be someone by your side — to bear witness to the future you have been waiting for.
