When the employer and union bargain, can we be a fly on the wall?

When the union and employer get together and negotiate, our union says the employer is unreasonable and the employer will say the same thing. Is the a way for us to see what is really happening at these meetings?

Term Life Insurance - Is it just another asset for my kids

I'm looking at a $500K term 100 life insurance policy. It's $300 a month and I'm thinking of purchasing the policy to transfer funds on a tax free basis to my kids. The $300 per month is money that will likely go into savings and eventually form part of my estate. I just don't know if I'm thinking of the policy correctly as I see it as just another asset class yet it appears marketed as a way to pay taxes on death. Is term 100 life insurance like a very long dated GIC and just another asset?

If a person has a $1M portfolio with an ACB of $400,000. There is an embedded tax bill of about $150,000 if their estate's marginal tax rate is 50%. Has any internet advisor talked about intentional triggering capital gains will someone is alive to reduce the future tax burden to the estate?

One issue that I see is the loss of returns associated with the taxes paid each year before passing on.

It appears the software determines the withdraws from different sources (RRIF, TSFA, cash, etc) to generate the cash needed fund the expenditures during the year. If in a year I withdrew a dividend paying ETF, in-kind, from my RRIF in excess of my expenditures. How do I input into the expected dividend payments until age 95 the model?

Please assume the dividend ETF pays a regular monthly dividend and the in-kind withdraws will occur every year in retirement from one or more sources.
