So I was talking to a coworker (also a mansplainer) who applied to the same agency as me, and we got on the topic of the academy. I mentioned it’s paramilitary… yelling, stress, pressure, all that.
He said he’d laugh and tell them it’s not that serious and that they should just communicate normally instead of yelling. He said how it’s mostly an ego thing for them.
I was honestly kind of in disbelief. Like how are you going into this field thinking “it’s not that serious”?
I tried explaining that part of the whole point is to test how you perform under pressure, and to prepare you. He didn’t agree.
Has anyone met someone like this going into law enforcement? How did that play out?
