The red winged black bird on the cattail

As I fish i watch a red winged black bird in

the reflection of the water and my mind

imagines the world that your wings drift

through my eyes wander from my bobber

as I watch you slow you wings and change

your pitch to land on the cattail in front of

you not noticing my bobber dip but the red

of your wing and for but a moment a oh so

fleeting moment I may leave my world

behind for yours beraucorsy for clear sky's

and open fields worries for open winds

As well as longing for action

Thank you for reading my poem. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, J

As I sit in my darkened room, my mind drifts to thoughts

of the wilds, to the deserts of Arizona. I think of the

plains, the cacti, the birds flying into a beautiful sunset,

diving and rocketing, rolling in the freedom of bliss that

comes with their wings. I yearn for thee with my body,

heart, and soul, yet you wait for me, everlasting, whilst

I'm magnetized to my bed, not by choice, but by

bureaucracy. Oh Arizona, from your rainbow sunshine to

your wild, untamed wilderness, from desert cats to

desert stars, a home away from home with no boards or

glass, a place to be, a place where I belong.

Thank you for reading feel free to leave your thoughts down below. Regards, j
