My dad had a stroke caused by a clot about 5 days ago. It affected his frontal lobe. His mobility, spatial awareness, and memory are good but his language and cognition is impaired. He understands about half of what we say, and his ability to express himself is greatly impacted.

The main problem right now is he badly wants to drive. We had to hide the keys and move his car far away but he says he's going to go buy a car. We tried telling him if he drives he'll go to prison and he doesn't understand. And he's so agitated and restless. Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a way to make him understand why he can't drive?
