My main goal is to maximize the stipend I can get.
Background: MT1, 8+ CG (<8.5), nothing really significant on my resume (no olympiad achievements etc.), no major DR, and I haven’t specifically prepared for internships yet (except do some amount of competitive programming ).
I’m guessing a lot of seniors have been in a similar position.
Quant probably isn’t realistic for me since I’d most likely get filtered out at resume shortlisting itself, and spending 90% of my time grinding probability puzzles for 2–3 companies that may not even let me sit for OAs doesn’t seem worth it.
So what would be the best strategy to maximize the “best company” I could practically get (assuming I do get an intern)?
Would really appreciate stories/tips from people who had a similar background and managed to land strong internships.
