Samples for acoustic styles

I'm helping put together audio for a friend's project where he will need 4 measure samples of instruments in an acoustic/bluegrass/hillbilly vein (i.e. jug, banjo, jaw harp, guitar, etc.) Plus a full combined 8-16 measure tune. I'm a lifelong musician (62 year old bass player) but am fairly new to logic. Playing the melodies, chords etc. are not a problem for me. It's getting the somewhat authentic sounding virtual instruments or samples that I'm finding difficult for these kinds of sounds.

A few of the built in instruments are useful (accordion and upright bass for instance), and there are a few built in loops that work (southern fiddle, bluegrass banjo) but I need some authentic sounds with flexibility to play a melody (as opposed to a canned loop).

I have tried dropping some samples into the multi-sampler and that works for some percussive sounds.

Are there any third-party products that would meet my needs without going fully into something like NI Kontakt?
