League feeling way harder then it ever used to and idk how to get better (Unranked)
I’m pretty stubborn and hate quitting, so I guess that’s why I’ve kept grinding League even when it’s frustrating. I first started playing when I was like 14 and I’m 25 now lol, but I’ve never really felt consistently good at the game.
A couple years back I was a pretty average top laner by normal person standards. I never really got into ranked because it took the fun out of the game for me, but now even norms/swiftplay feel rough. around 2 years ago I used to play a ton of Tahm Kench top and had a lot of fun. More recently a decent amount of Sion. I also played support for a while and I’m honestly not terrible at it, but compared to top lane I just find it boring. Recently I’ve been trying champs like Jax and Darius and still feel like I’m getting smoked most games.
The weird part is it feels like 4 out of every 5 games I just get stomped and I don’t fully understand why. I’m level 165 or something and I’ll queue quickplay just to get rolled by people way lower level than me. Even when I play safe I somehow end up behind on farm, trades, tempo, everything.
I’ve watched guides and tutorials and understand the concepts in theory like wave management, CSing, trading, map pressure, etc. But in actual games it never feels consistent. Mid game is especially rough because I never know whether I should rotate, split push, catch waves, or group, so I kind of freeze and do nothing well.
Some games I randomly pop off and feel like I finally understand the game, then the next few I get completely destroyed again.
I don’t even really know why I’m writing this post. I think I’m just frustrated because League is one of the only games I’ve genuinely cared about getting good at and used to have fun, but despite playing for years I still feel wildly inconsistent and don’t really know what I’m fundamentally doing wrong.
