A recent post on here has basically the same setup as me. Which led me to buy the a potential solution to my saddle. As you see I have installed the saddle as high up as I could on the garbage disposal drain. However I was worried about potential back flow into the Cloud tank. The other post listed two options: 1) Drain Line Adapter (DLA) With 1/4-inch Quick Connect Fitting for a Water Filter and 7/8-inch Fitting for a Dishwasher
And option 2 was an air gap somewhere else which I didn’t fully understand. Relocating the drain line to the dishwasher drain right at the garbage disposal will put that higher than the saddle now. However I saw in other posts that the DLA isn’t a true air gap. So I am confused. Is the DLA the better option than I have now or something else? I bought the DLA and seems like it should be an easy install. Though I basically want this cloud to do its job and not have any back flow even if chance is remote. I think someone said for all things to hit where back flow would occur I would have bigger problems than a dirty cloud system. Thanks for any additional insight.

It looks like there is the option to replace current panel with either a SHP2 or SHP3 or set one of those as a sub panel. My current panel is 200a and running out of available space. I know you can combine circuits.

However my novice question is: Can you keep both panels functioning, the current 200a panel and either the SHP2/3 proving an additional 100a or 200a and extra circuits without pulling from grid? With the SPH backing up just what’s on its own panel? Also freeing up some wiggle room on the current panel as I still plan to add a few more big loads, ie car charging, separate garage, etc. This seems obvious but just making sure there isn’t some code issue or you can’t have two panels with 200a each or whatever.

Sorry for Novice question. If the above is possible seems like I can expand the solar over time supported by the SPH and leave none essential on the original panel. That’s the other part of my question. Can you basically decouple from the grid on the SPH and have it solar and back up generator powered only with the Ultra X’s?
