Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (16", Intel): 5070Ti or 5080

Context: I’m studying a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering in Germany and I’m considering buying a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10, 16" Intel

My main use would not be gaming, although gaming is definitely a plus! The main use of this laptop would be:

  • CAD software, for example Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
  • technical drawing / product design
  • possible simulation software in the future
  • practicing on my own
  • university projects and possibly a student job later

I’m currently interested in design and product development, and I might choose a specialization related to Product Design and Engineering. That is why I want a laptop that can handle engineering software well and hopefully last me several years before I actually NEED to upgrade because of software requirements

The RTX 5080 version would cost about 500€ more, around 2600€ (due student discounts and withouth any extra thing)

My question is: Would the RTX 5080 be worth the extra 500€ or is the 5070Ti enough?

I would especially appreciate advice from people who use Legion laptops for CAD, engineering, 3D modeling, or simulation work.

EXTRA QUESTION: I am thinking on buying the "Premium Care Plus" for 4 years, cause if anything happens, it saves me money. Any German or someone with German Insurance experience? Or experience with the "Premium Care Plus" overall?
