After the Hensen/Lickers split announcement there was some speculation that the split may have happened because Nathan had decided to go to college/step back from skating. It appears that was not the case.

I want to share a personal note as I mark the unexpected end of my 14-year partnership with Lily Hensen.
I’m incredibly grateful for the journey we’ve shared—growing up together on the ice, celebrating highs, and learning through every challenge. These years have shaped who I am.
While this chapter is difficult to close, I have taken time to process and I’m moving forward with an clear mind and a sense of possibilities for what’s ahead.
Thank you to my all of my coaches, Ilderton Skating Club, Skate Canada, Skate Ontario, and my community at Six Nations of the Grand River for your constant support.
