I have doubts about the quality of life.

Hi everyone.
Unfortunately my 73 year old grandmother was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 uterine cancer that spread to her large intestine. She is going to have surgery to place a colostomy bag. After that, our family decided to go with palliative care instead of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, prioritizing her quality of life.
Most of what I know about cancer I learned by researching on my own, since the doctors only told us the basics and not much more.
My question is for those who went through something similar with a loved one. Do people who choose palliative care usually enjoy life freely, eating whatever they want? Or do they also follow special diets and natural treatments on top of palliative care? Does taking care of their diet actually help them live longer?
In my grandmother's case it is special because her cancer affects the intestine, so I understand there are certain foods she needs to be careful with. But she always enjoyed good food and since she is elderly, I would love for her to enjoy whatever time she has left without too many restrictions.
What did you do in your experience? What would you recommend?
