My friend is coming to visit me in Austin from Medellin Colombia and flying through Houston. She is there now (Houston). Her flight to Austin is at 830 and I got a call from a CBP person in Houston who asked who I was and then asked if I was expecting anyone. I said yes and he asked who. I told them, and he says something like shes here at CPB and asked us to call you to let you know she will probably miss her flight to Austin. I asked what was going on and the asshole hung up on me. I called back and another person answered, this one nicer, but not very helpful. She verified that my friend was with them but said they arent allowed to say anything else. I asked if I should drive to Houston, if I should get a lawyer, if they could give me ANYTHING to let me know what to do, but always was met with the "we arent allowed to give any information" answer. Im not going to let her go through this while I just sit here, but I am not sure what to do. I heard from friends that they have had to deal with this crap and were held in a room at cbp for hours and then just told to go on their way. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Immigration law offices are closed so Im trying to figure out if I should drive there, or wait for some word. I dont know if me being there would help her, or if it would make no difference.

I have a friend coming in to visit Austin for the first time from Columbia. She doesn’t get in until 10 o’clock tonight and I’m looking for a place that’s open late and it’s still pretty good. From what I can see the only place that’s open really late 24 diner. Are there any other places that I’m missing?

Anyone know if theres enough water there, or which spots are the safe ones now to go cliff jumping?
