I live in Alabama and my manager offered me the position within my department. My manager will remain the same. When the position was offered my manager said it would be a pay increase so I said I was interested but never accepted the position. I was told when I would begin training and that’s when I requested an offer letter. I expressed I was not comfortable training without knowing how much the increase would be. I began training on it about 2 weeks ago. Currently ending week 3. Now my manger asked me in passing if I noticed the increase in pay and I said no because I haven’t received an offer letter and she said to check my pay because I wouldn’t be receiving one. I checked and no change in position or pay yet. Is this normal? I want to email HR and ask for clarification. I’m afraid they are going to offer a few cents increase and I will not accept that.
