Just wanted to share my experience with folliculitis. When I get my haircut, I always go to the skin on the back and sides. A high/mid bald fade. I started experiencing folliculitis about 2 years ago. I started getting very painful bumps/sores on the lower portion of my neck. The only thing that helped was antibiotics. The antibiotics cleared me up, but about 4 months later it would come back. I decided against treating it with antibiotics, for fear of becoming resistant. I recently had a pretty bad flare up, and starting washing my scalp with Hibiclens. That helped a little bit, but it was still stubborn. I started adding 70% isopropyl alcohol to my scalp after washing with Hibiclens. That has seemed to eradicate it, but it took about a week to notice improvement. I think it's important to add lotion after applying Hibiclens and Isopropyl alcohol as to not dry the skin out too much and cause inflammation. So far I've had much success.
